There is actually a LOT of research going on at various universities and USDA facilities on "natural" dewormers. These studies are done under controlled conditions using fecal egg counts and bloodwork to determine the efficacy of various substances.
I've got a note in to a friend of mine who is one of the scientists working on this stuff to see if there's a handy list of things they've looked at so far. As I recall, Diatomaceous earth was a monumental flop under proper scientific scrutiny.
