Everyone knows and loves Linda who calls the farm phone, and she drops in for a visit and a show with her husband this week. So, not only do we have great calls to the farm phone but have a great section and raising chickens in the city! The show is a little longer this week, and the audio quality is a little poor, but I hope everyone enjoys the show.

I'm the woman in Vermont raising miniature cows - Dexters. We have 4 of them, and two are heifer calves from last year, and two are pregnant mothers. We hand milk the mothers, and they produce about 1.5 to 2 gallons per day.
This is a very cool blog/website. I love it.
Best, Mary

I rally enjoyed the views of the interior of your barn. It reminds me a lot of my uncle's barn from when I was a kid. It was amazing all of the things that could be found in that old barn. Thanks for the shots!

If anyone has any information on mini-cows, I would like to hear about it.

This comment is for Andrew. Following Linda's and my visit to your farm for Barncast 102 I did some research on digital audio recorders and found this neat device for less than $200. It's the Zoom H2 pocket sized field recorder with surround sound capability. You may know about this already, but if not you may enjoy the review at: http://digitalmedia.oreilly.com/2007/09/13/review-zoom-h2-surround-recorder.html
Have fun. Mark.

Jay, I ran across this blog entry from a woman in Vermont raising miniature Dexter cows: http://boskydellfarm.blogspot.com/2008/01/raising-cows-part-one.html
You may want to leave her a comment if you have more questions.
