It’s the first podcast of October so that means it’s an interview! This week we have a rather long, but fun talk with Matt and AJ from www.downshiftme.com. They more from the UK to Nova Scotia to start a more simply life. We had a great time talking to them. Hopefully between the dodgy phone lines, and my inability to get the mix right you’ll understand them. We talk about:

  • New Dogs
  • Farm Phone: 206-202-GOAT
  • Jon asks what could we do but can’t
  • Life Section: What is downshifting
  • Farm Section: What’s the new farm life, and plans?
  • Geek Section: Rural Internet

Please go visit their podcast at http://www.downshiftme.com/. It’s a great podcast, and they have great goals. We had a rather long talk, but I think it turned out rather well. It will be shorter next week! We promise! Please send questions to us, or call the Farm Phone (206-202-GOAT) and if there’s enough demand we can have them back.

This weeks show is a change from the normal, we look back at the last 6 months and the changes on the farm.

  • Pick your own link from Teri
  • Def’s cool site
  • Geek Section: Where we thought we were going, and internet
  • Farm Section: Kids, lambs, fencing, and the garden
  • Life Section: Travels, friends, etc

I hope everyone enjoys the change this week. If not, we’ll be back to our normal shows next week.

This weeks podcast is done from the back porch. We have a new guest, the wind and he can be pretty annoying. Oh well! The change is venues is little refreshing.

This weeks topics:

  • Since you asked
  • Trying to get rid of internet access
  • Farm update
  • Garden and trees
  • Crazy Cuisine: Rabbit liver

Please send us feed back!! The voice mail line is: 206-338-5944 our email address is: gfl@three-elms.com, or leave us a comment.

Well it gets off to a rough start, but we finally get going! The goat kids and yelling up a storm this Sunday afternoon, we weren’t sure why. Maybe it was just to close to feeding time??? Who knows, anyways, in this weeks show:

  • Hi to Scott!
  • New internet connection, again.
  • Ajax
  • Farm round up
  • Hay
  • Turkeys!
  • Drugs
  • Fiber mill
  • A Prairie Home Companion

I hope everyone enjoys! We appreciate all feedback, email to gfl@three-elms.com or voice comments to: 206-338-5944.

Well, Misty’s out of town this week so we tried to record another double ender. Except it didn’t work, so you get the audio from my end instead. Which means it sounds like Misty’s in a tin can. This weeks podcast covers:

  • Misty’s travels
  • Internet access on the road and at home
  • How not to move the portable fencing
  • Chores alone
  • Misty’s afghan. It’s done after 1.5 years!
  • Send us feed back! gfl@three-elms.com

I hope everyone enjoys the show. As Dave from Chub Creak pointed out to me, we made the top page of the podcast section at yahoo. I don’t know how long it’ll be up, but check it out. Interestingly enough it hasn’t really changed the download stats. I dunno if that says anything about us and our listeners, or more about yahoo?

I hope everyone has a good week. Next week Misty will be back and we’ll have a more normal podcast, but maybe we’ll have it outside? What did you think?

Well maybe you can tell, Misty and I recorded the podcast late Saturday night after we both had a long day so we’re a tad bit grumpy with each other. Oh well, that’s life. So no guessing about where the title came from. :)

A late arrival was the new bumper from Mark at Hoosier Geeks. I have to work in some background music, but we couldn’t stop laughing when we heard them.

In this weeks episode:

  • Hello to John
  • New Internet connection progress
  • Focus on pigs
  • Animal news
  • Misty’s afghan she’s knitting
  • Fiber festival
  • Garden update

I hope everyone enjoys it. As always we appreciate any and all feed back. Either as comments on this entry, though the contact form, or emailed to gfl@three-elms.com.

This weeks episode is a little different. Instead of going through the entire episode taking out 20 minutes worth of audio out I didn’t do any real editing at all. I just mixed in the audio clips and everything else is raw from the barn. In reality I ran out of time to edit it much, but I also thought it would be interesting to see what the feedback was like. If you like it, or if you don’t, let us know. Do you want more like this? More edited? Can you tell the difference? Is it too long?

There’s also a second audio file, I hope it doesn’t show up in the RSS feed. It’s a super compressed (11.025khz, mono, 16kbit/sec), aka low quality, for our listeners on dialup. It’s only 6.3megs vs 26megs for almost the entire hour long podcast. If you like it, or find it useful let us know!

This weeks show:

  • Hello to all our friends who got in touch. If we miss pronounced your name, we’re sorry.
  • Misty mixes up Ross from Zee and Zed with scary Matt
  • New Internet connection, we hope
  • Caroline asks about goats, and we spout forth much wisdom. *cough* Or we spout forth something… We review a lot of dairy goat information.
  • Poo update
  • Garden update
  • Podcasters Across Boarders

We spend 58 minutes talking about that!
