October and Movember, corrected — 206-202-GOAT

For the first time I’ve heard of Movember from the US, so it’s gone full circle. Do you know it started in Australia? Well that’s a good topic for this month, and we look back at the October and all the wonderful adventures we got up to down undah.

    hey misty and andrew!
i was in barnes and noble today trying to remember what board game you said you were playing…was it catan? anyway, you made it sound fun for a game-lover like me. i’d love to hear more about it on the podcast.

misty, i also have an ashford joy wheel and i went ahead and purchased a freedom jumbo flyer for it last year at the ‘stitches’ yarn show. i have been carding up batts of cormo, silk and mohair and am learning to corespin. i use a light weight cotton string as a core. the resulting yarn is very lofty and light. definitely a fun way to use up all the fiber i have accumulated!

it is january and here in north carolina it has finally gotten down to the mid 20′s F at night (at least for the last few nights). a couple of potted plants are still hanging in there…parsley and leeks! they are right next to the house so they must be enjoying a slightly warmer airspace than the rest of the pots and garden.
of course any pansies planted in the ground here will survive our winter and continue to give us color till it gets hot again.

happy new year to you both!
