Good luck driving in the dry if you ever leave the UK. ;) Chickens can be a lot of fun, and it shouldn't be too hard to build a fox proof run. We have a few foxes out here and they haven't been a problem yet. Know on wood. The eggs are soo much better than what you get at the store, they are actually yellow. Hey India!

We have foxes here, just south west of Glasgow (One of the rural farm kids I was teaching a few years ago offered to get his dad come shoot the fox that I was waxing lyrical about...), so we would need to fox-proof the run. We are going to wait and see what happens re bird flu ('cos I don't want to freak my neighbours out and then have to get rid of the hens) and hope that maybe next year we can get 2 0r 3. And I would love a few alpaca - but that really is a non-starter. India NOt a whacky thing to do, but I want to keep chickens.
