Sound-seeing: Milking Cleo

Filed under: Sound-seeing — andrew at 8:48 pm on Wednesday, February 15, 2006

This started innocently enough as a simple experiment, would it sound interesting to record milking Cleo? I think it does. Really, this a reason to show off my new microphones and iriver. Comments? Suggestions?

This is a rich sound seeing tour. Worthy of NPR. I especially liked the tender commentary about cold water on teets.

Hey thanks Etherdog! I want to do more but, and I have lots of audio, none of it seemed interesting enough yet. I’m working on more.

Wow. You must be double handed milking by the sounds of it. I have only mastered doing it with one hand at a time. I don’t trust my doe not to kick the bucket over. As of yet, she has only given a little milk at a time before i dried her off, so i just milked into a mason jar with a coffee filter on it. in the spring i plan to have 4+ milkers, though, so i better get better!
